- Our experienced team includes physical therapists who are Board Certified in orthopaedic and sports physical therapy and Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists.
- Our staff is engaged in scholarly activities including teaching continuing education courses nationally and internationally, publishing journal articles and book chapters, editing/writing textbooks, and lecturing at local universities.
Brian J. Tovin DPT, PT, MMSc, SCS, ATC, FAAOMPT
Brian Tovin is a physical therapist and athletic trainer who has treated high school, college, Olympic, and professional athletes for over 30 years. Dr. Tovin served as the director of rehabilitation for The Georgia Tech athletic teams and was selected as the head athletic trainer for the aquatics venue at the 1996 Olympic Games. He has been an athletic trainer with the United States Diving and Swimming team and was part of the United States medical staff for five Maccabiah Games in Israel. In 1995, he founded The Sports Rehabilitation Center and is the current owner with four sites in the metro-Atlanta area.
Dr. Tovin has written a textbook, authored numerous book chapters and research articles, and has lectured nationally and internationally on various sports medicine topics. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Rehabilitation, Emory School of Medicine. In addition to being an expert in sports physical therapy, Dr. Tovin has been a leader in the movement to prevent overuse injuries in youth sports.
As a former Division I swimmer, Dr. Tovin learned first-hand how frustrating it could be to have an injury interfere with skill development and competition. He is now dedicating this portion of his career to identifying the physical impairments and practice/competition errors that lead to overuse injuries. Dr. Tovin believes that these injuries can be mitigated through proper education and training. Outside of work, Dr. Tovin spends time with his wife Stacey and 3 boys, Alex, Jordan and Drew. He is involved in master’s swimming, travel baseball, skiing, and scuba diving.
Alexander Beebe PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, CMT
Alex Beebe is a doctor of physical therapy who has served the Atlanta community for over five years. He has played several roles in the field of physical therapy as a leader in a management position, an educator involved with the development of new clinicians and orthopedic residents, and as a treating clinician. With all of these positions, Dr. Beebe’s goal has always been driven by his passion to be the best in the field by offering the highest level of care to the athletes and patients he treats. In pursuit of this goal, Dr. Beebe has furthered his knowledge and clinical skills by becoming a Board Certified Orthopaedic Specialist and earning his certificate as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.
As a high school baseball player, Dr. Beebe earned All-State honors in Georgia and advanced to playing collegiate baseball. This experience has given him the insight needed to understand the physical and mental demands on high school and college athletes. An unfortunate arm injury hampered his pitching development, but ignited his interest to pursue a career in physical therapy and sports medicine. Dr. Beebe focuses on the importance of education by providing lectures and publications to athletes, families, and coaches. In addition, he uses research-based assessment and training techniques for injury prevention, rehabilitation, and performance enhancement of baseball athletes and all athletes who are passionate about their sport.
